Bikepacking

When I was 18 I discovered bikepacking, except we called it bike touring. I had an old steel bike, bought a rack and some panniers and loaded it up. I don’t know what it weighed, but it was heavy. Around 3am one July morning I got the urge to ride and so went from Canberra to Victoria over a few days. Alone yet connected to the world in a way I’d never known. Met a lot of people, gathered a lot of anecdotes as things went right, wrong and very wrong and the adventure seed was sown.

Fast forward…well…many years and things have gotten a little larger. After falling out of love with my bike for a while as life just kinda…happened, I rediscovered the joys of cycling. First mountain biking and now back on the tar to tour…and perhaps even race…
